Early airport transfers can leave a Cuba resort before the main buffet opens. Travellers should ask in advance whether an early breakfast, takeaway meal or limited lobby service is available.
Ask the day before departure
Confirm the transfer pickup time first, then ask reception or guest services about food options. Some resorts prepare a simple breakfast box, while others open a small section of the buffet or provide coffee and basic items.
Confirm what is included
A departure meal may contain only a sandwich, fruit, pastry or drink. Travellers with allergies, diabetes or other dietary needs should not assume that a suitable option will be available. Pack a safe backup snack when necessary.
Check airport restrictions
Some food may need to be eaten before security or before arrival in another country. Avoid carrying fresh fruit, meat or other restricted items across borders unless you have confirmed the rules.
Prepare the night before
- Fill a reusable bottle only after confirming safe drinking water.
- Keep medication and essential snacks in your carry-on.
- Set a backup alarm.
- Confirm the bus pickup point and room checkout procedure.

If no early meal is available
Use packaged snacks brought from home or purchased earlier in the stay. Do not depend on airport restaurants being open, fully stocked or able to accept your preferred payment method.
An early breakfast request is simple, but it should be made before the final evening rush. A small backup meal can make a long transfer and airport wait much easier.
