What housekeeping normally includes
| Service | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Room cleaning | Daily schedule and whether a door sign is required |
| Bath towels | Exchange procedure and replacement location |
| Bed linen | Change frequency or request process |
| Toiletries | Availability can vary; pack essential personal items |
| Drinking water | Whether housekeeping or another department supplies it |
Prepare a small backup kit
- Quick-drying towel or microfibre cloth.
- Soap, shampoo and personal hygiene products.
- Laundry soap for hand washing.
- Reusable water bottle.
- Plastic bag for wet clothing.
If service is missed
- Check whether the do-not-disturb sign was displayed.
- Call reception or housekeeping before evening.
- Ask specifically for the missing item.
- Document repeated problems and contact the tour representative if needed.
Cleaning times, beach towels and tipping
Occupied rooms may be cleaned later than check-out rooms, especially during busy periods. When service is needed before a specific time, contact housekeeping or reception early rather than waiting until evening.
Bath towels and beach towels may use separate systems. Beach towels can require a card, room-number record or deposit and may only be exchanged at a dedicated counter. Keep any card or deposit receipt safe and return the towel before departure.
Tipping housekeeping is optional. Travellers who choose to tip may prefer small amounts during the stay because the same employee may not service the room every day. Never leave cash visible unless it is clearly intended as a tip.
