Laundry service is available at many Cuban resorts, but the process, price and turnaround time vary by hotel. Travellers should not assume that same-day service, self-service machines or a complete price list will always be available.
How resort laundry service usually works
Most hotels that offer laundry use a bag and paper form placed in the room or available from reception. Guests list each item, sign the form and leave the bag for housekeeping or deliver it to the designated desk.
Ask before sending clothing
- Confirm the price and accepted payment method.
- Ask how many days the service normally takes.
- Check whether ironing is included.
- Do not send delicate, expensive or irreplaceable clothing.
- Photograph the completed form and the items if the load is important.
Self-service laundry is uncommon
Coin-operated guest laundry rooms are not standard at many all-inclusive resorts in Cuba. A sink wash may therefore be the most practical option for underwear, swimwear and lightweight clothing.

- A compact clothesline and a few clips
- A reusable waterproof bag for damp clothing
- Quick-drying clothes
Drying clothes in the room
Use the balcony drying rack when one is provided, but secure lightweight items against wind. Do not hang wet clothing over lamps, electrical equipment or sprinkler heads. Humidity can make drying slower than expected.
Plan around shortages and delays
Hotel laundry operations can be affected by water interruptions, electricity outages, detergent shortages or staffing limits. Send essential clothing early in the stay rather than the day before departure.
