Resort bathrooms in Cuba can vary in condition, so a quick inspection helps prevent falls, water damage and uncomfortable surprises.
Check the floor and drainage
Look for standing water, loose tiles and surfaces that become slippery when wet. Use a bathmat when available and keep towels away from drains.
Test hot and cold water
Run the taps carefully before entering the shower. Water temperature and pressure may fluctuate, especially during busy periods.
Inspect fixtures
- Shower head secure
- Grab bars firmly attached
- Toilet flushing properly
- Sink draining normally
- Door locking correctly
Report leaks quickly
Leaks can spread into the room and create a fall hazard. Contact reception and request maintenance or another room when the problem is significant.
Travelling with children or reduced mobility
Ask about an accessible shower, non-slip mat or shower chair before arrival. Do not assume these items are available without confirmation.
Use our Cuba resort room safety checklist for a complete arrival inspection.
