Bathroom ventilation can affect comfort in a Cuba resort room, especially in a humid coastal climate. Weak airflow may leave towels damp, mirrors fogged and moisture trapped long after a shower.

Check ventilation early

After arrival, test the bathroom fan if one is installed. Some fans operate with the light switch, while others run continuously or through a separate control. Also check whether the bathroom door, window or vent allows air to circulate safely.

Reduce trapped moisture

• Use the fan during and after showers.
• Leave the bathroom door open when privacy and room conditions allow.
• Hang wet towels and swimsuits where air can reach them.
• Avoid placing wet clothing inside closed closets or luggage.
• Keep the air conditioner running at a reasonable setting when permitted.

Signs of a ventilation problem

Persistent condensation, peeling paint, strong musty odours or visible mould should be reported. Take photos and ask for cleaning, maintenance or a room change when the issue affects health or comfort.

Do not block vents

Avoid covering ventilation grilles with towels or luggage. Blocked vents can worsen humidity and reduce the effectiveness of both bathroom extraction and room air conditioning.
