Many Cuba resorts offer luggage storage before check-in or after checkout. The room may be locked, staffed or accessed through reception, but travellers should still take basic precautions.
Ask how the system works
Confirm who controls access, whether a receipt or tag is provided and when the luggage room closes. Do not assume it remains available until a late airport transfer.
Label and photograph bags
- Add your name and phone number
- Use a distinctive strap or tag
- Photograph each bag before storage
- Count all pieces
- Keep the claim ticket secure
Keep essentials with you
Never store passports, cash, cards, prescription medication, phones, cameras or travel documents in a communal luggage room.
Inspect bags after collection
Check zippers, locks and handles before leaving the resort. Report missing or damaged items immediately and request written documentation.
Our Varadero departure checklist covers hotel checkout, transfers, baggage and airport timing.
