Warm weather makes occasional insects possible even in well-maintained Cuba resorts. Ants, mosquitoes and small flying insects often enter through open doors, windows or food left uncovered.
Reduce what attracts insects
- Store snacks in sealed bags
- Remove fruit peels and sugary cups
- Keep balcony doors closed
- Do not leave wet towels on the floor
- Use screens where available
Inspect the room
Check around beds, luggage racks, bathroom drains and balcony doors before unpacking. Keep suitcases off the floor and closed when not in use.
Report repeated activity
Take a clear photo, note the location and contact reception. Ask for cleaning, maintenance or a room change when the problem continues.
Pack personal protection
Bring repellent suitable for your needs and use it according to the label. Our mosquito prevention guide for Cuba covers clothing, repellents and medical warning signs.
Room checklist
- Food sealed
- Doors closed
- Luggage raised
- Activity photographed
- Reception contacted
Most minor insect problems are easier to solve when reported early and supported with clear details.
