Laundry at Cuba Resorts: Washing Clothes, Prices and Packing Tips

Laundry service is offered at many Cuba resorts, but the process, price, payment method and turnaround time vary by property. Same-day service, self-service machines and complete price lists should not be assumed.

How resort laundry usually works

Hotels that provide laundry service may leave a bag and paper form in the room or make them available through housekeeping or reception. Guests list each item, sign the form and submit the bag according to hotel instructions.

Ask before sending clothing

• Confirm the current price and accepted payment method.
• Ask how many days the service normally takes.
• Check whether washing, drying and ironing are priced separately.
• Do not send delicate, expensive or irreplaceable clothing.
• Photograph the completed form and important items.

Self-service laundry is uncommon

Coin-operated guest laundry rooms are not standard at many all-inclusive resorts. A sink wash is often the most practical option for underwear, swimwear and lightweight clothing.

Pack lightweight, quick-drying clothes

Choose breathable fabrics that can be washed by hand and dry relatively quickly. Heavy cotton, thick denim and lined garments can remain damp longer in humid conditions.

Dry clothes safely

Use a balcony drying rack when one is provided and hotel rules permit it. Secure lightweight items against wind. Do not hang wet clothing over lamps, electrical equipment, air-conditioning vents or sprinkler heads.

Plan for humidity, rain and service interruptions

Clothing can dry slowly during humid or rainy weather. Hotel laundry can also be affected by water interruptions, electricity outages, detergent shortages or staffing limits. Send necessary clothing early in the stay instead of waiting until the day before departure.

Keep basics in carry-on baggage

Pack underwear, a light outfit and a swimsuit in carry-on baggage in case checked luggage is delayed. Keep medication, documents and money with you as well.
