Delayed or Lost Luggage in Cuba
Report the problem before leaving the airport, obtain a baggage file number, keep receipts and use your carry-on backup kit while the airline traces the bag.
Do this first: go to the airline baggage desk before leaving the arrivals area. Ask for a written report and the tracing reference.
Airport checklist
| Action | Proof to keep |
|---|---|
| File the report | Property irregularity report or baggage reference. |
| Describe the bag | Colour, size, brand, tag number and a photo if available. |
| Give delivery details | Hotel or casa name, room number and phone contact. |
| Contact insurance | Claim number and list of eligible essential purchases. |
| Save receipts | Toiletries, clothing, medication-related costs and transport. |
What should be in carry-on luggage

Delivery at a resort or casa
Give the airline a location that staff can identify easily. Inform reception or the host that a delayed bag may arrive. Keep the baggage reference accessible offline because internet service may be unreliable.
