Most package travellers arriving at Varadero use a tour-operator coach, private transfer or taxi. The best option depends on arrival time, luggage, mobility and hotel location.
Before leaving the terminal
- Keep your hotel name and booking confirmation available offline.
- Confirm the transfer company or representative before handing over luggage.
- Ask for the price before entering a taxi when the fare is not prepaid.
- Keep small cash available for immediate expenses.
Coach transfers
Shared coaches may stop at several hotels. Travel time therefore depends on the order of drop-offs, traffic and the location of your resort on the peninsula. Keep water and essential medication in your carry-on bag.
Private transfers and taxis
A private transfer can reduce waiting and multiple hotel stops. Confirm the total price, currency, vehicle size and whether large or unusual luggage is accepted before departure.
Departure day
Reconfirm pickup time with the tour operator or hotel. Leave extra time for luggage handling, terminal lines and schedule changes. Do not rely only on a message that requires mobile data.
