WestJet and Sunwing: no confirmed Cuba return for winter 2026-2027

What WestJet currently confirms

On June 5, 2026, WestJet announced an indefinite suspension of all flights to Cuban destinations. Its official Cuba destination page still states, as of August 28, that all flights are suspended until further notice.

This Cuba-specific suspension is separate from the labour disruption that temporarily affected WestJet’s broader network in early August. WestJet and its cabin crew union reached a tentative agreement on August 3 and began restoring network operations; that did not amount to a restart of Cuba flights.

What about Sunwing Vacations?

Sunwing Vacations Group — including Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations and WestJet Vacations Québec — announced on June 5 that all Cuba operations were suspended until further notice. At the time of this update, no new official restart date makes winter 2026-2027 Cuba service confirmed.

If you still want to travel to Cuba this winter

• Check the operating carrier’s website before booking.
• Do not rely on an old flight schedule or brochure.
• Confirm the actual carrier, connections and refund conditions.
• If travelling through another country, verify entry and transit requirements.
