Les Harlistas Cubanos réunissent à Varadero des passionnés de motos classiques et de Harley-Davidson anciennes.
Cuban motorcycle culture
Harlistas Cubanos brings together owners of classic motorcycles, including Harley-Davidson machines preserved in Cuba for decades. The Varadero gathering has included motorcycle displays, meetings, music and public activities.
No public official schedule for the 2027 edition had been found when the French source article was verified on July 20, 2026. Confirm dates and location directly with the organizers before planning a trip around the event.
Many motorcycles from the 1940s and 1950s remain on Cuban roads because their owners repair and adapt them with scarce parts and considerable ingenuity. The Varadero event gives riders from several provinces an opportunity to meet, display their machines and exchange mechanical knowledge.
A 2018 report described more than 80 participants at the seventh edition in Varadero’s central park. Later coverage also documented motorcycles from several brands, with a strong Harley-Davidson presence.
Historically, the gathering has been associated with February, often around the second weekend. Dates, location, duration and programme can change according to permits, available resources and local conditions.
Do not book transportation or accommodation solely from an old edition calendar. Check recent organizer announcements shortly before travelling.
Historic gatherings have used the central Varadero area near First Avenue and Streets 43–44. This area is accessible from downtown hotels, while travellers staying farther along the peninsula may need a taxi.
Use an offline map and confirm the exact event location because the venue can change between editions. The Downtown Varadero guide provides useful orientation.
Some past editions accepted toys or supplies intended for children, older adults or social institutions. This should not be assumed for every edition. Ask organizers what is actually being collected, who will distribute it and where items will be delivered.
When donations are officially requested, useful examples have historically included hygiene products, school supplies, small games, new socks and underwear, and sealed non-expired medical items.

Classic Harley-Davidson motorcycles are part of Cuba’s surviving mechanical heritage. Their continued use often depends on handmade repairs, reused components and support among enthusiasts. Gatherings help owners locate parts, share techniques and preserve knowledge.
The event is therefore more than a tourist spectacle. It represents a community maintaining rare vehicles and a distinctive part of Cuban transportation history.
The Harlistas Cubanos gathering is an original cultural event usually associated with February. Verify the current calendar and location before travelling specifically for it.
