Update: Monday, October 14, 2024: A new formation in the Atlantic
This system is currently embedded in an unfavorable environment and no further development is expected over the next few days. However, this system is expected to move generally westward to west-southwestward, and environmental conditions could become more favorable for further development by the middle or end of this week.
A tropical depression could form as the system begins to move west-northwestward and approaches or closes in on the Leeward Islands by the end of this week. Chance of formation within 48 hours... low... 10 percent. Chance of formation over 7 days...average...40 percent.
A new disturbance is developing in the Atlantic Ocean. Conditions are currently being closely monitored, although forecasts indicate a low probability of cyclonic formation in the next few days.
