Even if we are in the South, there are "seasons" for fruits and vegetables
In Quebec, we know that apple season is in September. At what time of year can you eat “seasonal” fruits and vegetables in Varadero and which ones are grown there?

Here are the times of year when you are most likely (if storms or hurricanes have not affected the harvest) to find certain fresh fruits and vegetables:
January, February and March: bananas, pineapples, carrots, tomatoes, onions, peppers, chili peppers, papayas, eggplants, basil, parsley, celery, coriander, hierbabuena, lettuce, beets, potatoes, cabbage, spinach, citrus fruits, radishes and chard.
April to July: corn, mangoes, sapodilla and sapota, pineapple, banana, peppers, eggplant, ginger, garlic, citrus fruits and chives.
May to August - September: mangoes, guavas, green beans, avocados, cinnamon apples, soursop, rollinia, piña ratón, pineapple, bananas and papaya.
October to December: avocados (de frío), bananas, pineapple, papaya, cabbage, lettuce, sweet potatoes, cassava.
