Double-decker panoramic bus - $5 per day / $3 NightBus

Varadero's hop-on hop-off buses are open-top double-decker buses (there are now some with removable canvas roofs) that are great for getting around Varadero on a budget. The system is pretty simple; you buy a ticket the first time you get on and you can hop on and off as many times as you like throughout the day. The cost is $5 and it's free for children 6 and under (several members have told us that they often don't charge children even over 6). It's important to note that since the start of the pandemic, you can no longer pay with tickets; only credit cards (and soon the new tourist card) are accepted.

With no less than 45 stops in Varadero, you can basically visit anything you want. The stops are located near the most important tourist attractions, all the hotels in Varadero, the Varadero Dolphinarium, Parque Josone, the Varadero beach bars and even go all the way to the end of the peninsula. Every half hour a bus passes each stop, there are three buses in constant rotation throughout the day. The lower deck is air conditioned and the upper deck is open air and perfect for kids and seeing the sights! If you decide to sit up top, choose the row behind the driver to avoid getting “whipped” by the tree branches in town. And tie or remove your hat when the bus is traveling on the highway!

There are two different companies: one with red buses and the other with green and blue ones. You can change from one company to the other in the same day without any problem.

Note: Two out of six buses go all the way (further than Casa de Al and the others stop at Calle 8 and do not go all the way as seen on this route. [To be verified for 2021]
