On October 7, Bartender's Day has been celebrated in Cuba since 1951. A special day where bartenders from all over the country come together to celebrate and share their cocktail knowledge.
We wanted to highlight this happy event.
Here is a very refreshing cocktail, born from the alliance of the birthplace of Cuban rum, Santiago de Cuba, and the Daïquiri, the Floridita in Havana.
Preparation:
Just beat everything in the electric mixer for a few seconds.
It's really good and easy to prepare at home. For logistical reasons I replaced the recommended Santiago de Cuba 11 años rum with a simple Añejo rum.
But here are the professionals: ⤵️

▪︎40 ml of salted honey syrup
▪︎20 ml of fresh lemon juice
▪︎Ice cubes
▪︎A pinch of sea salt
Préparation
This is a cocktail offered by the house of Ron Santiago de Cuba, the birthplace of Cuban rum. It's similar to a traditional Daiquiri. You just have to replace the sugar with salted honey syrup, and the white rum with amber rum, ideally Santiago de Cuba 11 year old rum.
In a cocktail glass, mix all the ingredients, strain and serve. Finally add a pinch of sea salt and ice cubes.
A delight, but always remember to consume everything in moderation... even moderation.

▪︎ A ripe cachucha pepper
▪︎ A few drops of angostura or bitter orange
Préparation
This is an excellent cocktail, very innovative, that Havana Club puts at our disposal!
Preparation:
In a cocktail glass and using a pestle, crush the cachucha pepper in the mead. Then add the grapefruit juice, the rum and the angostura drops. Mix everything well, filter and finally serve in a glass with ice cubes. Add a cachucha pepper for decoration.
Havana Club Profesional C would be recommended for preparing cocktails with citrus fruits. Any other light amber rum, such as Havana Club 7 itself, could ultimately be used instead.

Mango Ron

▪︎80 ml of mango juice
▪︎40 ml Red or fruit wine
▪︎20 ml Honey Syrup
▪︎20 ml of lemon juice
▪︎40 ml of white rum
▪︎Crushed ice

The mango undoubtedly stands out among the best fruits in Cuba. Like pineapple, guava and papaya, or even banana, the mango is part of this tropical list.
Even in October, the Cuban heat does not subside. Extreme weather conditions force us to cool off and, above all, hydrate well. So let's go sit at the bar.
In a long glass we preferably put a few ice cubes, to first add the red wine, or homemade fruit wine, then the honey syrup, the lemon juice, the mango juice and finally a good dose of Cuban white rum .
Very fresh colors, flavors and aromas for any afternoon of the eternal Cuban summer. Just so you don't die dehydrated. Ingredients
Havanatan
Ingédients
▪︎80 ml of Havana Club Añejo Rum.
▪︎40 ml of homemade fruit wine.
▪︎A few drops of angostura.
▪︎Ice cubes.
Préparation
The Manhattan is a classic cocktail made with whiskey and red vermouth, usually taken as an aperitif.
Today I invite you to taste a very interesting version of this world-famous cocktail. So we are going to make a Havanatan with very Cuban ingredients.
The original Manhattan recipe consists of whiskey, red vermouth and a drop of angostura.
The ingredients for our Havanatan would be Havana Club Añejo rum and house fruit wine, plus a few drops of angostura.
Place all ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice cubes and mix well. It is served without ice, in any glass but cold, garnished with a cherry or maraschino pepper, or even an orange zest.
I am a fan of this drink, very tasty and effective in countering sobriety in Havana evenings, which by the way
seem to be starting slowly again.

Ingédients
▪︎60 milliliters of White Rum
▪︎1 ripe banana
▪︎½ cup ripe pineapple
▪︎½ cup of coconut cream (or white)
▪︎1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)
▪︎½ cup ice cream shake
▪︎Granadine to taste (optional)
Préparation
Ingredient
Among the Caribbean cocktail recipes, one of the best known is the so-called Banana mama.
Caribbean life is characterized by a very particular environment with beautiful beaches and a very pleasant temperature, which always invite relaxation.
Land of tasty and aromatic fruits, the Caribbean has an extraordinary range of products suitable for cocktails and drinks. Banana mama's Caribbean recipe allows you to enjoy a cocktail with all the essence of the Caribbean without leaving home. It is a refreshing drink that has a consistency close to ice cream. I remember having the opportunity to taste this cocktail for the first time on Caleton Beach, on the shores of the Bay of Pigs, in the heart of the Cuban Caribbean.
Preparation :
Place the ice cream in the blender glass, along with the pineapple, coconut cream, peeled banana and sugar.
Beat everything for a minute at medium speed, while the rum is incorporated, until you obtain the expected creamy texture.
If desired, add grenadine to the bottom of the glass where the drink is served.
You can garnish the glass with a piece of pineapple or a slice of banana.
Easy to make, but it is convenient to prepare the drink when serving it, as the fruit may lose its freshness and the ice may be diluted. More rum can be added to taste.
Cheers...and see you soon in Cuba, finally it seems.s

The Piña Colada is one of the most popular classic cocktails in the entire Caribbean; it is a delicious mixture of coconut milk and pineapple juice with a little rum, which can easily be found throughout the Cuban archipelago.
Its preparation is very simple, however, the quality and maturity of the fruit used, the dosage of the different ingredients, the power of the mixer to obtain the expected creamy texture and the type of white rum can influence the result which only arrives at be perfected with repetition.
Every bartender has their own secrets and skills to make their best Piña Colada.
Personally, I would like to recommend Robert's exquisite package in Cuba, on the Peñón del Fraile, halfway between Varadero and Havana, or the very popular version at Josone Park on Cuba's Blue Beach.
Pour all the ingredients into a blender and blend until completely integrated and have a very creamy consistency.
Serve in a glass decorated with a pineapple wedge and a correct quantity of rum, without moderation.
The cinnamon powder at the end is optional. Some even add dark rum, or a little honey or other syrups to the inside of the glass. Tastes and colors...
And you, how do you make your Piña Colada at home?
Very happy Mother's Day.
